St. Joseph Catholic Church
St. Joseph's Church, built in 1905 was destroyed by fire. When the smoke had cleared, all that remained was the stone entrance and twin towers, which became the cornerstone of the new building. The usual sequencing of building the exterior walls first and then the roof had to be reversed as the parish had selected board formed precast concrete panels for the exteriors walls. This type of construction necessitated that approximately 90 percent of the roof structure be built first so the exterior concrete panels could be attached to it and secured in place.
